Currently, we are partnering with a leading construction solutions provider to recruit an EHS Advisor (m/w/d) for a major project in Vaasa, Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full adherence to project and company Safety Management Systems.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant Finnish Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and statutory provisions.
- Support onboarding of employees and subcontractors in line with Finnish legal requirements.
- Act as the on-site point of contact for coordination with local authorities and Municipality.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage safety performance indicators across the project.
- Ensure effective control of hazardous substances, including ongoing COSHH assessments.
- Promote and maintain high safety standards and proactive safety culture on site.
- Coordinate EHS training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Support accident and incident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication.
- Ensure welfare facilities, PPE, and safety resources are available and maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety documentation, and project safety files.
- Drive waste reduction and recycling initiatives in line with project policies.
- Liaise closely with project management and subcontractors on all EHS matters.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety in line with Finnish legislation.
- Minimum 3+ yearsย experience in EHS roles on large-scale construction projects.
- Proven experience working on Data Centre construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Finnish EHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience liaising with local authorities and municipalities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach.
- Flexibility in working patterns as required by project demands.
