Our story

We’ve come a long way but still have a long, exciting journey ahead of us. 


From our very first project in Norway in 2012, SilverBack has been refining our solution to the talent shortages that are hampering the delivery of major high-tech construction projects.


In the early days, SilverBack focused on the selection and mobilisation of managed teams of construction trades workers for reinforced concrete, electrical and mechanical installation.


Core to our offering, then as now, was a fully-managed service with SilverBack controlling all aspects of the delivery, the recruitment, employment compliance, mobilisation and all in-country logistical elements, to improve the customer and project staff experience.

Evolution

The value of SilverBack’s Nordic market expertise is really emerging as the global economy, incentivised by climate economics, changing geopolitics, and trade realignments seek stable, in-market locations with a reliable, abundant supply of clean power. 


An abundance of relatively cheap, renewable energy in Subarctic Scandinavia is a massive attraction for energy-intensive activities like data centres and digital infrastructure, green steel production and battery manufacturing.


This is driving an increasing number of multi-billion euro investments in new data centres and industrial facilities in our core Nordic markets.


At the height of the pandemic in 2020, SilverBack expanded our offering to include the supply of white collar professional and technical staff to these major projects.


This strategic move was driven by an ambition to move up the value chain, reduce cyclicality and position ourselves “earlier in the conversation” with project leads.

This expansion of our offering has enabled SilverBack to become a strategically important supply chain partner to several of these projects.


It has transformed the business. SilverBack is now embedded in the ecosystem that is constructing the infrastructure for the digital transformation and the energy transition and is working to overcome the talent and skills shortages that are a real risk to progress.


SilverBack’s project staff have already performed more than 4.5 million manhours in these transformative projects.


SilverBack is successfully building its presence on some of the most interesting new-industry projects in Germany since 2023 and will continue to expand our footprint there. SilverBack has structures in place also to satisfy our clients in Spain, Belgium, Poland and the Netherlands.


2026 marks the launch of SilverBack’s white collar offering in the United States, delivering our contract staffing solutions to the rapidly growing high-tech construction market.

SilverBack is now building its presence in Germany and in other strategic markets in Northern and Central Europe. Other geographic regions are also in development and future announcements will follow.

The Future

SilverBack will continue to grow its own global footprint. We will focus on providing our managed mechanical, electrical, project management and other scarce workforce solutions to pioneering €1 billion plus digital infrastructure, clean technology and new-industry construction projects in Europe and North America, deriving our competitive advantage from our volume recruitment and mobilisation expertise.
