Currently, we are partnering with one of our premier international clients to find an experienced Construction Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing complex worksites for both new-construction and remodelling projects.
Objectives of this Role
- Site Leadership: Manage worksites for new-construction and remodelling projects, coordinating all daily activities to ensure work is perfectly in sync with project goals.
- Quality Control: Provide clear direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during groundwork to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise seamlessly with engineers, architects, and other key project stakeholders.
- Commercial Management: Prepare and manage project estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to legal regulations, building codes, safety codes, and other statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and specialists to define project needs.
- Hire full-time and part-time subcontractors and labourers, and efficiently coordinate their schedules.
- Conduct regular site visits across all project phases—including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress visits, punch walks, and closeouts.
- Lead and attend regular status and coordination meetings.
- Conduct and document rigorous quality assurance and safety inspections, ensuring a safe work environment and that all tools/equipment are in optimal condition.
- Maintain and update Scopes of Work (SOW) and preconstruction documents.
- Meet contract obligations by developing strong relationships with reliable contractors and vendors. Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other unexpected project disruptions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience managing new-construction and remodeling projects.
- Deep knowledge of modern construction methods, technologies, and scheduling methods.
- Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings and commercial contracts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building-code requirements and construction worksite safety practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager), AC (Associate Constructor), or CPC (Certified Professional Constructor).
- Working knowledge of green building and sustainable construction practices.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language is highly advantageous for our international sites.
