Overview:
Stegra are looking for an experienced Lead Cost Controller to join one of Europeยs largest industrial mega-projects ย a major green steel development in Boden, Sweden. This role is ideal for a senior project controls professional with strong cost management expertise across large-scale industrial or EPCM-led projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cost control activities for a major project area, ensuring alignment with approved budgets, project objectives, contractual commitments, and company requirements
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve cost forecasts, variance analyses, cash flow forecasts, and cost performance reporting
- Review and challenge EPCM cost reports, commitments, accruals, change orders, and expenditure reporting
- Monitor project performance to identify cost risks, trends, and opportunities, driving proactive mitigation actions
- Work closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, Planning, and EPCM contractors
- Support change management processes through cost impact assessments and cost change registers
- Prepare executive cost reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership
- Support continuous improvement of project controls systems, reporting standards, and governance frameworks
Requirements:
- Bachelorยs degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Economics, Project Controls, or related discipline
- Professional certifications such as AACE, CCP, PMI, or PMP are advantageous
- Around 10+ yearsย experience in project cost control, project controls, or commercial project management
- Strong experience in large-scale industrial, infrastructure, energy, mining, manufacturing, or EPCM-led projects
- Proven ability to manage complex cost structures, contractor reporting, forecasting, and change management
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and project controls software knowledge
- Excellent communication skills in English
