Currently, we are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Lightning Protection Technician
to support major industrial, commercial, and Data Centre projects based in Louisiana. This role is with a global leader in critical infrastructure and specialized "Cloud to Ground" protection solutions, offering the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment across high-demand sectors.
This role requires travel for up to 75% of working time to support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Install specialized lightning protection and grounding systems, including air terminals, conductors, bonding, and grounding components across data centers and industrial facilities.

Coordinate directly with electrical contractors on-site for the proper installation of surge protection devices.

Inspect, test, and diagnose faults in existing systems to verify proper function and compliance with national industry standards.

Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications.

Work confidently at heights on roofs, ladders, and scaffolding to safely install system components.

Follow strict OSHA safety regulations, LOTO procedures, and construction site protocols at all times.

Document inspections, maintenance activities, and installation details for compliance and quality control reporting.

Participate in a structured, on-the-job training program as part of a recognized apprenticeship pathway (5,000ย8,000 hours).
Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven hands-on experience working within the construction, electrical, or structural cabling industry (commercial and industrial projects preferred).

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, structural blueprints, and detailed installation standards.

Comfortable working in field environments, including working at heights and outdoors.

Solid knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction site practices.

Good communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Certifications or familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA 780, UL 96A, or LPI-175 are highly advantageous but not mandatory.

Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) on a flexible schedule to support regional project sites.

Valid Driver's License and clean background check (drug screenings required by the site).
