Currently, we are partnering with a leading European construction solutions provider to recruit a Mechanical Engineer (m/w/d) for a major project based in Munich, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assign work schedules to mechanical teams and subcontractors.
  • Plan and coordinate daily site activities.
  • Supervise and motivate on-site teams to ensure high performance.
  • Ensure proper handling and installation of mechanical materials and equipment.
  • Maintain safety standards, ensuring compliance with mechanical codes and permit systems.
  • Supervise installation of mechanical systems including chillers, AHUs, pumps, and associated infrastructure.
  • Oversee HVAC, cooling systems, firefighting, and plumbing installations.
  • Manage data centre mechanical systems, including redundancy connections.
  • Track and manage scope changes, engineering updates, non-conformities, and technical queries.
  • Review work procedures and method statements, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Coordinate with contractors to manage execution, resolve clashes, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support hiring, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and other departments to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Monitor on-site mechanical operations and escalate major issues to senior management.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Leads to review and implement design requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 10+ yearsย’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working on Data Centre projects is essential.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in engineering-related software and IT systems.
  • Strong workload management and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
